"SHERBET"! That's right, it is a statistical fact, boys and girls, that more people pronounce the word "SURE-BET" than "SURE, BURT," or any other way for that matter. Here are the figures:
50 % say it like "SURE-BET"
33% say it like "SURE, BURT"
and surprisingly,
16% say it some other way.

I will mail my findings to Webster Co. and demand that they include them in the pronunciation portion of the dictionary under the word "sherbet," so no other child will ever have to grow up confused about how to say it correctly.
